NOTICE OF AGM 2025
In adherence to the Memorandums and Articles of the Southampton Solent Students’ Union, I hereby give notice that the Trustees of the Union have called the Annual General Meeting.
This notice contains the following information:
- AGM Date, Time & Location
The AGM will take place in TS414 on Tuesday 22nd April from 12pm- 3pm. If the AGM does not reach quorum (50 students) it will be rescheduled and the information of such will be distributed to the students at the time. Details on how to preregister can be found here: Annual General Meeting
- AGM Business
- Receive minutes of the Annual Members Meeting 2024
- Receive reports from Trustees on the Union’s Activities since the last AGM
- Receive audited accounts of the Union, for the previous financial year
- Appoint the Union’s Auditors
- Review the Union’s Code of Practice
- Consider and approve the register of external affiliations
- Receive and consider motions from full members of the Union
- Provide a forum for members to question Trustees
- Details of who is eligible to participate
All Full Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.1) of Solent Students’ Union are eligible to participate in the AGM.
Associate Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.2), Reciprocal Members (as per Bye Law 1.1.3) and students who have opted out of Students’ Union membership cannot participate in any democratic processes of the Students’ Union.
- Details of Proxy Voting
In adherence to article 27.1 of the Solent Students’ Union Memorandum and Articles of Association, Full Members are eligible to vote by proxy. Proxy voters will only be valid if the proxy voting form has been submitted to student.voice@solent.ac.uk by 16:00 on Thursday 17th April from a valid Solent University email address. Proxy form must include:
- Name and address of the member appointing a proxy.
- Signature of the member appointing a proxy.
- Name of person acting as proxy.
The authenticity of proxy voters will be determined in a manner that the Trustees see fit.
