Gareth Hampton - Warsash Cadet and Warsash Liasion Officer
- Studying Navigation & Maritime Science at Solent University.
- Gareth is also a Trustee of the MSSC, a large UK maritime charity
- He is also a Careers at Sea ambassador.
Roger C Holt - Warsash Alumni and Chairman of the Warsash Association,
- Brian is a Director and Trustee of the Maritime Industry Foundation and a Sea Ambassador for Careers in the Shipping Industry
- His Maritime career started 1963 with pre-sea cadet training at The School of Navigation, Warsash and thence sea time with P&O as a Deck Officer until 1968. Commenced as an undergraduate at Southampton University – graduated with BSc Nautics in 1971.
- In August 1971 he joined P&O Bulk Shipping Division and held various commercial positions in a number of trading companies and ship operators until 1991.
- He was Appointed MD of OMI UK in 1992 and MD of UB Shipping in 1996.
- Brian was Appointed Secretary General of INTERCARGO in 1999 and retired in 2009 with a further one year as consultant.
- He went on to establish his own commercial consultancy Holt Maritime Ltd.

- Sea service to 3rd. Officer 1964 - 1970.
- Member Crew Department British and Commonwealth Shipping Company 1970 - 74.
- Crew Manager Gulf Oil Marine Agency 1974 - 1980.
- Assistant Manager British Shipping Federation, Manager Labour Affairs Legislation and Policy General Council of British Shipping 1980 - 1984.
- Deputy Secretary General International Shipping Federation, Secretary Employers Group of the International Labour Organisation 1984 - 2006 overseeing revision of the IMO Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Convention and the initiation and introduction of the International Labour Organization Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).
- Secretary General International Maritime Employers Council 1985 -- 2009 overseeing the initiation and introduction of the International Bargaining Forum.
- Retired 2009, established Dearsley Maritime Consultants providing consultancy to Videotel Marine on the MLC and maritime training, plus research projects commissioned by European Union on seafarer recruitment and training and maritime career paths and to BIMCO/ICS on global seafarer supply and demand.
- Served as CEO to International Seafarers Welfare and Assistance Network 2010 -- 2014.
- Awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Maritime Transport by Solent University in 2009 and the Merchant Navy Medal for meritorious service in 2012.
Brian Hoare - Deputy Chairman of the Warsash Association
- 1961 - 1962 One year's pre-sea Cadet Training at The School of Navigation Warsash, it was the foundation for his whole career.
- 1962 - 1972 Employed with Furness Withy & Co Ltd from Cadet through to 2nd Officer serving on general cargo vessels, ore carriers and cruise ships, obtained what was then known as a Masters Foreign Going Certificate in 1971.
- 1972 - 1984 With the advent of containerisation heralding the demise of general cargo ships, Brian made a complete career switch to join Panocean, a newly formed British company to operate Chemical Tankers on a world-wide basis. Promoted to Master three days after my 30th birthday and spent the next two weeks in atrocious weather calling at ports in the English Channel and the North Sea and finding out I still had a lot to learn about a Masters job.
- 1984 - 2010 Employed as Master by Stolt-Nielsen Ltd, the largest Chemical Tanker Operator in the world, another major change serving on a variety of vessels, under a variety of flags, and with multi-national crews.
- 1993 - Brian completed a three-month assignment at head office to write the company's first Operations and Safety Manuals then returned to sea duty.
- He was assigned to the training department developing a major Safety Excellence Course in conjunction with DNV, helped to deliver the course at world - wide venues.
- He developed a MARPOL Course, updated the one-week Cargo Course and presented both at world-wide training venues.
- He conducted onboard training and accident investigation.
- Brian is a Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
- He was a Council Member of the Officers Union 'Nautilus' for 22 years.
- Served 8 years in Royal Naval Reserve to the rank of Lt Commander
