Job Description:
Communicate to our stakeholders through various media making students aware of all Students’ Union activities.
To be the Students’ Union's main spokesperson to both internal and external stakeholders.
To ensure that the Students’ Union communication strategy meets the needs of stakeholders.
To convene and chair the Communications working group consisting of representatives from all student-run media.
To act as the first point of contact for all media enquiries at the Students Union.
Co-ordinate committees of the Students’ Union ensuring the agenda, minutes and notice are produced in a timely fashion and in accordance with the constitution.
To act as editor in chief of all Students’ Union publications to ensure that Students’ Union policy is adhered to.
All Sabbatical Officers, regardless of position:
As an elected trustee and sabbatical officer of the Student Union it is your responsibility to:
Uphold the Students’ Union Constitution.
Work as a team of trustees to oversee the operation of the Students’ Union.
Actively participate in the democratic process of the Students’ Union through the committee structure as outlined by the constitution.
Represent the general interests of students by being a member of both internal and external committees as and when required.
Feedback on issues discussed at University committees, presenting reports to the Executive Committee and Union Council as and when required.
Where necessary attend meetings on behalf of other sabbatical officers to ensure effective representation for students.
Monitor, review and deliver Student Union policy.
Liaise with external stakeholders as required e.g. National Union of Students (NUS), Primary Care Trust (PCT).
To work as a team to promote, publicise and co-ordinate all campaigns.
To regularly obtain feedback from students to ensure that the Students’ Union meets the needs of our main stakeholder students.
To contribute to the smooth running of the organization.
