The role of the Vice President Welfare (VP Welfare) is to support all students with housing, health and community relations. VP Welfare also works closely with specific groups such as LGBT+, parents, Mature, International and disabled students.
VP Welfare is here to:
Provide welfare support to all the students by leading campaigns to deliver the changes that students’ wish to make.
Make sure all the services in the University and Students’ Union are accessible to all students.
Represent students at Solent in the community and other occasions such as Equality Forum, Interface Forum, etc. VP Welfare works very closely with the Student Advocate and a variety of departments in the University.
Welfare Angels WANTED
The Welfare Angel role is all about getting involved with campaigns that are being run by your Students’ Union to support other students.
Some of the exciting activities you can get involved in are:
• Eco Ernie
• Wellness Wednesdays with Health Spark
The role is very flexible and works around your degree and part-time work commitments. By working together, we can make the role of Welfare Angel a fantastic and positive opportunity for you and the students you help.
